Some of the easiest money a writer can make are producing articles and books about the “the search” for happiness or enlightenment. There is only one conclusion I can come to from all of this: we must be actively avoiding the answer because we love the quest more than we love the goal. We don’t want this search to end.

No One Likes Football
It is an act of courage to remain unreasonable and unjustifiable except for the pleasure of it. But giving in to logic in this way comes at a price. We instantly dehumanize the notion of socializing and turn it into something justifiable for other reasons.
Hiding In Plain Sight: The Medium of Stillness
Something this seemingly elusive must be actively hiding from us; probably hiding in plain sight. In other words, hiding in the place we are least likely to look. As in: the very thing we believe is helping us find this answer is actually what is keeping us from it.
Success Depends On How You Define It
This is important because being rich has always been available to anyone willing to sell the lives of others down the river for their own financial gain. And, in this country at least, they will be called “successful” for it. There are, of course, other ways to make money, but all of them require someone to be fully in touch with their humanity…
Better Off
A “better life” is never more than a better experience of it, not any quantifiable aspect of it. “Better” is what you, and you alone, know about your life. It is not measurable, nor does it ever need to be. Measuring is only necessary when you want to communicate value to another. But your life is yours alone; it can never be experienced by another.
